Cryotherapy
CryoRevive
About this service
Cryotherapy uses extreme cold temperatures to promote natural recovery and well-being. Undoubtedly inspired by ancient Nordic or mountain practices of ice baths, this modern technology is widely used by high-level athletes, and is increasingly within the reach of everyone. The cryosauna uses liquid nitrogen vapor to expose the body to temperatures well below zero degrees (-110 to -170 C) for one to three minutes. This exposure prompts the body to briefly develop survival and cold-fighting reflexes, causing the release of endorphins, which can reduce pain and inflammation. Cryosauna uses natural biological mechanisms and reactions known to provide analgesic, anti-inflammatory and soothing effects on the body. Origin Wellness offers CryoRevive sessions for the whole body (head excluded), as well as localized sessions with CryoRecover. Top athletes often use cryotherapy instead of ice baths to avoid dermatological problems.
The benefits of CryoRevive, as reported by research and users:
- Helps in detoxification
- Helps soothe muscle pain, tendonitis, and joint pain from osteoarthritis

CryoRevive lets us look at cold in a whole new way. While it can do harm, it still essential for life; many plants, trees and animals require a period of cold. The same is true for humans, and cryotherapy can help a lot with that.
Preparing for the Service
As with all of our services, we recommend drinking plenty of water both before and after the session to help with the elimination of toxins. High quality water is provided at Origin Wellness.
You will disrobe down to underwear (women generally keep their bra on), and a robe will be provided to you. Once you step into the chamber and the door is closed you will remove the robe, and the session will begin.
Take off anything metallic including all rings, watches and other jewelry. This includes piercings for cryotherapy.
We advise doing regular sessions in cases of strong inflammation. For example, a series of 8-12 successive sessions, 3-4 sessions per week, is recommended for inflammatory conditions and chronic pain. 2-3 sessions per month are recommended for wellness and anti-aging.
5 to 10 minutes of relaxation are recommended before application (especially for sleep or stress).
Smoking should be avoided 1 hour before and after treatment, because nicotine is a vasoconstrictor.
During the session, you will be required to turn at least a quarter-turn every 15 seconds. This is for your safety. Failure to comply will result in the immediate termination of session.
If you are currently taking any strong pain-killing medication (e.g. narcotics/opioids) that can deaden your sensitivity to cold, we do not recommend doing cryotherapy.
As with all of our services, we do not recommend being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
